The Bureau of Fire Protection also flagged the building's insufficient number of fire exits, warning that it cannot safely accommodate occupants during emergencies.

The Legislative Building, inspectors found a defective automatic fire suppression system, along with malfunctioning fire detection and alarm units, further underscoring systemic safety deficiencies.

The BFP also noted substandard construction of fire exit stairs in the Legislative Building.

Obstructions were seen blocking designated fire exit pathways, endangering quick evacuation in case of emergencies.

Other issues include non-illuminated exit signs and missing evacuation plans in visible areas.

Critical components like panic hardware and door closers on fire exits are also missing in several locations.

Even more alarming, hazardous materials were reportedly being stored inside the Legislative Building's electrical room.

Baricuatro emphasized the importance of compliance: “We have to comply with all these, kay this is a safety issue.”
