“ANI SA ALAMPAT”
The Freeman
|February 26, 2026
The Cebu Provincial Government and Cebu Provincial Youth Development Office celebrates National Arts Month this year with a series of exhibits and events that underscore the creative inflections of Cebuano talents.
Serving as the month-long celebration’s opener was the exhibit “Ani sa Alampat: Kamatuoran, Kadasig ug Paghiusa” (Harvest of the Arts: Truth, Courage and Unity), which brought artworks and fineries by Cebuano creatives together at the Capitol Dome of the Cebu Provincial Capitol.
Distinct in its thematic score, the elucidating points of balance and creative cohesion served as the heart of this show. By presenting artworks made by up-and-coming artists next to fineries made by six of Cebu’s highly-sought after couturiers, it did more than earmark how evolved and evolving the creative precepts of Cebu’s talents are: it also dished on the often-overlooked difference between “modern” and “contemporary”.
