Almendras assumes post as MCWD board member

Businessman and economist Ruben Almendras officially returned to the Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD) as the newest member of the Board of Directors, effective Monday, December 15, 2025.

ALMENDRAS underscoring the urgency of restoring water services.
Almendras, who previously served as MCWD Chairman, fills the unexpired term of lawyer Danilo Ortiz, who resigned from his post. His term will run until December 31, 2028.
In his first flag-raising ceremony as a board member, Almendras emphasized collaboration, transparency, and teamwork as the guiding principles for his return.
“I will need the support and cooperation of all of you, the Board of Directors and management, to keep me informed of developments and updates as far as MCWD’s financial and operational situation is concerned,” he said, stressing that collective expertise is essential to meeting service targets.
