HRRAC President Mia Singson-Leon said that while the industry continues to face economic headwinds, member establishments are working closely with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and local authorities to reassure travelers of the safety and readiness of hotels, resorts, and major tourism sites across Cebu.

“Despite the slowdown in arrivals and the challenges brought by the calamities, we remain focused on rebuilding visitor trust and supporting our members and affected communities,” Singson-Leon said.

What happened, happened

Tino, in his watery fury last November 4, dropped, as reported, up to a month’s worth of rain in just an hour that resulted in widespread flooding in the Metro Cebu area. With all the precautions and preparations, ghosts or actual projects in place, it is impossible to control flashfloods that cover rooftops in just minutes. This day will forever be recorded as one of Cebu’s most infamous dates.
