A piece of history, Ghassemi completes seventh World Marathon Major in Sydney

With his family as cheerleaders, Cebuano sportsman Afshin Ghassemi added a feather in his cap after conquering his seventh Abbott World Marathon Major in Sydney, Australia last Sunday, August 31.
Ghassemi's latest feat came four months after he earned the coveted Six Star Medal - a distinct honor given to runners who complete the six of the largest and most renowned marathons in the world: Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York.
Then came Sydney, the seventh city to join the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors series.
