Last Wednesday was a disastrous day for dogs.

In Cebu City, three dogs died in two separate fires. Rushie and Thunder, both owned by Dheve Claver, died in a fire in Barangay Duljo-Fatima. In Barangay Labangon, Lyka Mae Cezar lost her dog Elmo who died after a fire that started in the house of a neighbor spread to hers.
But those weren't the only dogs to die that day. In Bacoor, Cavite, a resident lost two of her dogs while one is still missing after a fire destroyed 600 houses in Barangay Bagong Silangan.
