2 vloggers face raps for fake news
The Freeman
|April 05, 2025
The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) has filed charges against two vloggers for allegedly spreading false information on online platforms such as Facebook and TikTok.
-
In an interview, Police Colonel Arvie Aserre Paraon-Bueno, spokeswoman for PRO-7 regional director Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, said the two individuals posted false, edited, altered, and enhanced content on their social media accounts.
The individuals charged are from Cebu City and Imus, Cavite, and are aged between 20 and 45.
However, PRO-7 has withheld their names as the cases are still being raffled, following the direct filing procedure taken by the Philippine National Police. One case was filed in Mandaue City, while the other was filed with the Cebu Prosecutor’s Office.
The posts in question have been circulating on social media since the indignation rally for former president Rodrigo Duterte held in Mandaue City last February.
