PRADA SIGNS DEAL WITH 2 STATE-BACKED AGENCIES

In a landmark step that will take India's iconic leather craftsmanship to the global luxury market, Italian fashion house Prada has entered a formal partnership with LIDCOM and LIDKAR, two state-backed agencies working for the development of traditional leather artisans.

The MoU was signed at the Italian Consulate in Mumbai during the Italy-India Business Forum, marking one of the most significant global tie-ups for India's footwear craft sector.

Under the collaboration, Prada will launch a limited edition Kolhapuri-inspired sandal collection in February 2026. These products—an amalgamation of centuries-old Indian handcrafting techniques and Prada’s modern, luxury design language—will be available across 40 Prada boutiques worldwide and on the company’s online platform.
