Natesan pitches communal rhetoric

A public meeting in Kollam — Punalur saw Vellappally Natesan, general secretary of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam, level more controversial accusations against the Indian Union Muslim League and state minister K. B. Ganesh Kumar, claiming that the League is a communal party and that Ganesh improperly assumed the ministerial role.
He asserted that “the Muslim League is wrapped in colour-papers like potassium cyanide” and that Ganesh “is the gutter minister”, an apparent allusion to questions about his eligibility.
Natesan’s statements come amid intensifying debate over the role of religion in politics and education.
