Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday accused the government of taking decisions that have created a severe livelihood crisis for thousands of traders in Banaras’ historic Dalmandi market.

Speaking at a press conference at the party office in Lucknow, he said the administration’s move was driven by political motives rather than heritage protection.
