|November 09, 2024
In a surprising discovery, a large cache of weapons believed to date back to the 1857 Indian rebellion has been unearthed in Shahjahanpur.
The find was made by a local farmer during plowing, and the district administration has formally notified the Archaeological Department for further investigation.
District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh provided details of the incident on Friday, explaining that Babu Ram, a farmer from Dhakia Parvezpur village in the Nigohi police jurisdiction, stumbled upon a metallic object resembling a sword while working his field. Further digging revealed more artifacts, prompting officials to secure the site.
