AP and Google to ink deal on Data Centre today

In a landmark move set to redefine India’s digital infrastructure landscape, the Government of Andhra Pradesh will sign a major agreement with Google on Tuesday to establish a 1 gigawatt (GW) hyperscale data center campus in Visakhapatnam, marking a milestone in the creation of “Al City Vizag.”

The signing ceremony will take place at Hotel Taj Mansingh, New Delhi, in the presence of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, along with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and other officials.

The Rs 80,000 crore investment marks one of Google's largest commitments in Asia and is expected to make Vizag a national hub for artificial intelligence infrastructure, cloud innovation, and digital energy systems. The upcoming facility will integrate Google's full AI stack, from data infrastructure to generative Al applications, creating “India’s first true AI hub.”
