Yusuf Pathan an encroacher in Vadodara land dispute: Guj HC

Former Indian cricketer and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Yusuf Pathan has suffered a major legal blow in a longrunning property dispute.

- FPJ News Service

The Gujarat High Court has upheld a notice issued by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC), which declared him an "encroacher" on a government-owned residential plot adjacent to his bungalow in the city's Tandalja area.

Justice Mauna Bhatt, delivering the judgment, dismissed Pathan's plea challenging the VMC's 2024 order. The court made it clear that "celebrity status cannot be a shield against the law" and warned that granting exceptions in such cases would set a damaging precedent for society.
