Bangladeshis flocking to border: BSF
Several people, including men, women and children, were seen standing outside Hakimpur border in Swarupnagar in north 24 parganas waiting for their chance to cross the border as they have entered India ‘illegally’.
Hasina bibi who worked as a domestic help now wishes to go back to her native land Bangladesh as she doesn't have necessary documents for SIR.
“Three years back my husband and I came to India and used to stay at Birati in north 24 parganas but we don't have any documents of this country ‘or which we now want to go back to Bangladesh,” mentioned bibi.
Md. Selim who was staying in India along with his family for the last 20 years accepted that they have entered the country ‘illegally’.
“Even though I have my voter identity card, I need to show my father and grandfather’s documents which I dont have. I came here to India and stayed in Bengal illegally. I don't know if at all we can come back to India and also our fate is uncertain in Bangladesh,” added Selim.
