Stalin appeals for calm amid rush at pumps, agencies

Queues stretched across petrol stations in Chennai and several towns across the state after a surge in motorists seeking petrol, diesel and cooking gas, prompting Chief Minister M. K. Stalin to appeal for calm and assure the public that fuel supplies remain sufficient.
Stalin said the Union government had reiterated that adequate stock of petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas was available across the country despite tensions in West Asia that have unsettled global energy markets.
