'New shocks await investors amid lack of reliable data'

Stock markets, the world over, have been impacted by a confluence of factors since April 2025. The principal reason, as economists and capital market gurus pointed out, has been the US President Donald Trumps “fragmented” trade policy, imposing high tariffs on America’s trading partners..
On the other hand, Trump's “America First” policy has compelled leaders around the world to raise spending, enact reforms and pursue new trade deals and relations.
“Now, lack of reliable data is an emerging threat to the Indian stock market, and the economy. In India, our stock markets have been experiencing high volatility for a long time, and investors are frustrated with the market behaviour. The crucial challenge that emerging markets, including India, face is lack of reliable data.
