Leopard attack prompts call for wildlife rescue centre

A day after the leopard attack which left six injured in Alibaug's Nagaon village, the divisional forest officer (DFO) said on Wednesday that a proposal would be sent to the state government to set up a dedicated wildlife rescue centre in the Raigad district.
While the male leopard could not be caught, the officials believed it may have returned to its natural habitat. Forest teams continued patrolling to ensure public safety.
