Police seal off area- Taliya police station in-charge Deepak Dehayiya said that there has been no loss of life or property reported. The affected area has been sealed for repair work. TI Dehayiya- said that no formal complaint has been filed yet. Past warnings ignored- Despite being granted the status of a Prime Minister Excellence College, the institution continues to struggle with incomplete construction and inadequate facilities. Notably, seven years ago, the college’s C-block had sunk into Lower Lake, after which authorities had promised new construction. Those assurances, however, remain only on paper. No infra upgrade- Originally an arts and commerce institution, the college introduced science courses in recent years, leading to a sharp increase in student enrollment. However, infrastructure upgrades never followed. Following Monday’s collapse, classes on upper floors of the affected section have now been shut down, directly impacting students’ studies.
