Demand for resignation of minister, Board chief

Opposition leaders, — including V. D. Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala levelled scathing allegations over the gold-plating scandal enveloping the Sabarimala temple, accusing the government and the Travancore Devaswom Board of complicity and demanding answers, including disclosure of funds from Vijay Mallya’s donation.

Satheesan went so far as to thank the government for not stealing the Ayyappa idol, claiming “if a little more time was obtained, they would have done that too.” Satheesan said “mysterious things are happening,” and pressed why no credible response has been offered to his questions about Unnikrishnan Potti, the sponsor who managed the gold-clad panels.
