Abhishek Sharma’s blitzkrieg and the spinners help win by 41 runs
Opener Abhishek Sharma blended power with copious amount of grace to smash a 37-ball-75 while India’s spinners scalped six wickets between them as India defeated a spirited Bangladesh by 41 runs to storm into the Asia Cup final, here on Wednesday.
Saif Hassan was the lone warrior for Bangladesh as he slammed a fine 69. However, Kuldeep Yadav (3/18), Varun Chakravarthy (2/29) and Axar Patel (1/37) tormented the Bangladesh batters as they were bowled out for 127 in 19.3 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah had a much better day as he picked up an impressive 2/18.
Earlier, it was the Abhishek Sharma Show for India before indiscreet cricket from the other batters restricted India to a par 168 for six.
