Busting myths and misconceptions related to hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy has often got a bad reputation, all thanks to dramatic TV shows or stage acts. But in a clinical setting for therapeutic purposes—hypnotherapy is a powerful tool that can help people bring about meaningful change—with no magic tricks involved.

As someone who works closely with the subconscious mind, I have seen how effective hypnosis can be when approached with the right understanding and used as a tool for the right purposes.

Here's me sharing some common myths that I have heard across time.

Will I lose control?

This is one of the most common questions I get—especially with our Indian population, where hypnosis is often misunderstood because of what we see in movies or stage shows. But clinical hypnotherapy is nothing like that. Clients are fully aware and in control throughout the session. We only work on what they want to focus on—whether it's stress, anxiety, phobias, addictions or emotional healing.

It's a safe, structured process, no dramatic act. The client is not under someone's spell—they are just in a deeply relaxed state where the subconscious mind is more open to change.
