Stalin presses Modi to reclaim Katchatheevu

Chief Minister M K Stalin has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to raise the issue of retrieving Katchatheevu Island with visiting Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and address multiple fishermen-related disputes between the two countries.

Stalin stresses in his letter that the transfer of Katchatheevu to Sri Lanka was carried out by the Union government without the consent of the Tamil Nadu government or due parliamentary process, causing significant harm to coastal fishing communities.
