Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Thursday said the true me asure of a majority's strength lies in its ability to ensure that minorities live without fear, warning that episodes of vi olence carried out in the name of the majority und ermine the nation's moral standing and constitutional promise.

In a post on X, Stalin said attacks and riots by a few ri ght-wing groups, even as the Prime Minister takes part in Christmas celebrations, send a disturbing signal about the country's social climate.

His remarks came against the backdrop of multiple reports of intimidation and violence targeting minority communities in different parts of the country during the festive season, prompting renewed debate on religious freedom, law and order, and the role of political leadership.
