Opposition Leader VD Satheesan confirmed on Wednesday that he will not attend the upcoming commissioning of the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Thiruvananthapuram, despite receiving an invitation from the Kerala state government.

The event, which is scheduled for May 2, has become a point of contention due to the circumstances surrounding his invitation.

Satheesan's decision comes after a public dispute over his exclusion from the event, which stirred controversy in the state. He revealed that the official invitation letter, which arrived only on Tuesday, lacked key details.

According to Satheesan, the letter failed to specify the nature of his participation in the event or clarify whether his attendance would be as a mere invitee or as a participant.
