Police seize 127 weapons

With Ganeshotsav underway and the municipal elections approaching, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have launched a special campaign to maintain law and order. In the last 15 days, 127 illegal weapons, including pistols, koytas, knives and swords, have been seized across the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC). Of these, 43 were pistols, while 84 were other sharp weapons.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections are expected soon, and the political environment is heating up after more than four years without elected representatives. The new ward structure has already been announced, and local leaders are preparing for a tough contest. Police said some political actors could resort to using weapons to create fear among citizens.
