Rana, let us recall, was a key conspirator who worked with David Coleman Headley
-
Ahawwur Rana, the Pakistan-origin Canadian citizen who stands accused of involvement in the 2008 terror attack in Mumbai, the 26/11 atrocity, is finally bound for India, with the United States Supreme Court rejecting a final appeal against his extradition. It has been a long saga, though. The legal and diplomatic process of bringing Rana to India to finally be tried for his role in organising and facilitating the Mumbai terrorist attack has been protracted. It was in 2019 that the Indian government approached the US authorities for the extradition. After a number of legal challenges, the extradition came after Rana had to face legal proceedings in the United States as well.
