State aims to boost SIR drive with revised pay for 1.6 lakh BLOs

The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to increase the honorarium for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Supervisors involved in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.
A proposal to this effect, sent by the Chief Electoral Officer to the state government, is awaiting final approval. If cleared, the monthly honorarium for BLOs will be doubled from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000, and for Supervisors, it will be raised to Rs 1,500 per month.
