One of the reasons why most of us are unhappy is because of our inability to accept things, our inability to let go of people, things, events—what we can't change and surrender. We think we are in charge or in command of our life. This is true but not entirely. Of course, we have free will; we can choose our actions. But we also have pending Karma from previous lives that unfolds as the circumstances of our life. We have to pay for our Karma—no one can escape the Law of Karma. Therefore, we face challenges or events we can't control. While we can continue to do good deeds so that our future is brighter and happier, ultimately, we must transcend Karma, attain Moksha—this is the ultimate goal of life.
