Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to contest from Ladwa |Ambala Mayor Shakti Rani Sharma fielded from Kalka
Taking the lead, the ruling BJP on Wednesday released its first list of 67 candidates for the October 5 Haryana Assembly elections, fielding Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from Ladwa and Ambala Mayor Shakti Rani Sharma from Kalka assembly constituency.
The list contains several surprises as the most notable change is Chief Minister Nayab Saini's relocation from Karnal to Ladwa in the Kurukshetra district, signalling a strategic shift by the party.
In a surprising twist, Jagmohan Anand, a loyalist of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal, has been selected to contest from Karnal, bypassing several other party stalwarts, including Mayor Renu Bala Gupta was also present.
The party's list includes eight women candidates, showcasing its commitment to gender representation. Ambala Mayor Shakti Rani Sharma will contest from Kalka, while Santosh Sarwan will be BJP candidate from Mulana (SC).
