Sambhal Masjid case: Supreme Court appeals for 'peace and harmony', asks UP Administration to consider 'community mediation'

The court in the case suggested the Uttar Pradesh Government form a peace committee for community mediation as stated under Section 43 of the Mediation Act for communal harmony.

The Supreme Court in the case Committee of Management, Shahi Jama Masjid, Sambhal v. Hari Shankar Jain and others which relates to the survey of the Sambhal Jama Masjid, the court made an appeal to maintain peace and harmony.
The court in the case suggested the Uttar Pradesh Government form a peace committee for community mediation as stated under Section 43 of the Mediation Act for communal harmony.
The bench comprising of Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar was hearing the present matter.
In the present case, the court was hearing the petition was filed by the Sambhal Shahi Jama Masjid Committee challenging the order of trial court dated November 19, wherein the court directed the court commissioner to survey the mosque in a suit which claimed that it was built after destroying a temple.
