This was a statement from a casual discussion I had with the MD of the company I was working for in 2017. No, we weren't making golf equipment; the company was still about cars. It's just that he and his friends played golf together, and, like most simple men, they wanted to drive down to the golf course together in one car. Why? Because, like I just said, men are simple (mostly) even in their 50s, 60s, and beyond. Therefore, commuting in one car and sharing a few laughs on the way while discussing the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes is something they like more than listening to Jagjit Singh or Frank Sinatra while driving solo in separate cars.

These are the kind of people Mercedes-Benz and other premium-car manufacturers listen to, and not to auto journalists who have been repeating clichéd lines such as "xx engine is MATED to yy gearbox" in their reviews since the Stone Age.
