Influencer Found Dead in Parked Car in Bathinda
The Daily Guardian
|June 13, 2025
Popular Punjabi social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, widely known by her online persona Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a parked car near Adesh Hospital in Bathinda.
The shocking discovery was made late Wednesday night when volunteers from a local NGO noticed a foul smell emanating from the vehicle. Upon inspection, police recovered her decomposed body from the car's back seat.
The 30-year-old, a resident of Shimlapuri in Ludhiana, had amassed over 3.86 lakh followers on Instagram, where she frequently shared bold and controversial videos. Seven months ago, she had received threats from Canada-based designated terrorist Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla, who accused her of corrupting Punjab's youth with "obscene" content and said in a viral audio clip that even if someone from her family died, "it wouldn't matter." A preliminary probe suggests murder. SP (City) Narinder Singh said, "The body was found in the back seat. Its condition makes it difficult to determine injury marks. The vehicle appears to belong to the victim, and she had left home on June 9 for a promotional event in Bathinda." The car had been parked since early morning on June 10, as confirmed by CCTV footage.
