In the early hours of February 24, 2022, as Russian forces launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the nation's communication networks faced immediate threats. Recognizing the potential for widespread disruption, Ukrainian officials swiftly sought alternatives to maintain connectivity.

Two days into the invasion, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, reached out to Elon Musk via Twitter, requesting the activation of Starlink services over Ukraine. Musk responded promptly, and by February 28, the first shipment of Starlink terminals arrived in Ukraine.

Starlink, a satellite internet constellation developed by Musk's SpaceX, provided Ukraine with a resilient communication infrastructure. Unlike traditional networks vulnerable to physical attacks, Starlink's satellite-based system ensured continuous internet access even in conflict zones. This technology quickly became indispensable for both civilian and military applications.

For Ukrainian civilians, especially those in war-torn regions, Starlink offered a lifeline. "Points of Invincibility" were established—public hubs equipped with Starlink terminals—allowing residents to access the internet, communicate with loved ones, and receive critical updates. These centers also supported essential services, enabling hospitals to coordinate medical responses and schools to continue education despite the ongoing conflict.
