|December 05, 2025
Noida, police have taken into custody a 22-year-old man accused of attempting to murder his two stepchildren, aged three and four, by throwing them into a deep drain in Sector-137.
The children were promptly rescued by the complainant along with nearby passersby and are reported to be safe.
Officials from Sector-142 Police Station stated that the accused, Ashish—son of Bharat Singh and originally from Ayodhyapur village in Kanpur Nagar, currently residing in Shahdara village, Noida—allegedly pushed the children into a 10-foot-deep drain located near Paras Tierra Society.
According to the police, the motive behind the act was his unwillingness to care for the children.
