Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ten years in power as a turning point in India's history, Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said when the history of India is written even the harshest critics of PM Modi will have to write about his last 10 years of rule in golden letters.

Launching the book 'Indian Renaissance: The Modi Decade', edited by Dr. Aishwarya Pandit, the chairperson of the iTV Network, Shah highlighted India's transformation over the past decade, noting the nation's economic progress, social reforms, successful response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the various welfare schemes implemented for the people.
The event was attended by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal, among others. The home minister's statement comes as the Modi government highlights its achievements over the past ten years.
"Ten years of PM Modi... will truly mark the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Whenever the history of India will be written, even Modiji's 10 years of rule will have to be written in golden letters by his harshest critics, this is my firm belief," Shah said.
The event, attended by political leaders, intellectuals, and scholars, offered a moment of reflection on the policies, reforms, and visions that have defined India's trajectory over the past ten years.
Shah also underlined that the Modi government has reshaped India's political, economic, and social landscape, propelling the nation to the world's fifth-largest economy from 11th place in 2014.
He stated that India's history will need to be divided into three key phases: before and after Independence, before and after the Emergency, and before and after the Modi era.
The Home Minister also conveyed that Modi's leadership had ushered in a transformative period, comparable to some of the most defining moments in India's past. He expressed his confidence that even Modi's critics would eventually recognise the significance of his decade in power.
