Delhi villages demand infrastructure, development ahead of assembly elections

Delhi’s villages are currently in a sorry state, lacking basic infrastructure for the inhabitants and turning into slums with waterlogged streets, improper drainage, and inadequate sewerage systems.

Several of the city’s villages do not even have functional sewer systems, forcing people to live in poor conditions with broken roads, dirty streets, and a long list of civic woes.
Crucial issues related to land reforms in the city’s villages have remained unresolved for a long time. These concerns are now being voiced by the rural leaders of the Khap Panchayats, led by the Palam 360 Khap. The Khap has brought these issues of Delhi’s farmers to the forefront by organizing a Maha Panchayat last year. On September 15, another Mahapanchayat will be held at Jantar Mantar to raise the pending issues of the city’s villages, according to the Pradhan of Palam 360 Khap, Chaudhary Surender Solanki.
