Broken fridges, no AC: SMS hospital's emergency unit puts patients at risk

The emergency unit of Sawai Mansingh, the biggest government hospital in Rajasthan, is proving to be a burden on life these days.
The reason is that the basic system for storing life-saving medicines has collapsed here. Neither the air conditioner (AC) nor the fridge in the Drug Dispensing Center (DDC) has been working for months.
Due to this, medicines used for serious diseases like heart attack, brain stroke, and diabetes are getting spoiled in the heat.
This is the situation when the emergency of SMS struggles to save the lives of more than 900 patients every day.
Imagine, when every second matters in saving lives, a ward boy has to run to another ward to get the necessary injection—how much must be at stake.
