Research from Lafayette College's counseling center notes that boundaries are limits of time, attention and emotions we communicate to others clearly and compassionately. Boundaries help prevent burnout and ensure we don't neglect our own needs. Reflecting on questions like “What are things I want to discuss? What is offlimits?” or “Do I have the energy I need to help this person?” can clarify where a line should be. Such reflection is vital in India, where women often juggle family, work and community obligations while sustaining social networks.
