BJP workers, leaders jubilant after historic win
The Daily Guardian
|October 09, 2024
Contrary to the expectations of the principal opposition Congress party overwhelmed with victory on five parliamentary seats, the saffron Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has marked a third consecutive historic win in the Haryana assembly elections here on October 8 by winning 48 out of 90 assembly seats, which clearly showcases its strength while Congress has won 37 seats with an increase of 6 seats as compared to assembly polls held in 2019.
After the counting process started at 8 am, initially Congress took the lead indicating its a one-sided victory. However, as the counting of votes progressed, the BJP made a spectacular comeback around 10 AM getting an edge at least on 50 seats.
