HISTORY OF BHARTIYA LOK KALA MANDAL

The Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal was founded by Dr. Manohar Lal Soni, a passionate artist, art historian, and cultural conservationist. He established the institution with the aim of preserving and promoting the folk art and culture of India, especially that of Rajasthan. The museum was officially inaugurated in 1952, and since then, it has played a crucial role in safeguarding and popularizing the folk traditions and arts of the region.

THE MUSEUM AND ITS COLLECTIONS

Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal houses an extensive collection of folk art, crafts, textiles, and other cultural artifacts. The museum is a treasure trove of Rajasthani folk traditions, showcasing an impressive variety of items such as puppets, masks, traditional musical instruments, paintings, textiles, and tribal art. The collection also includes traditional costumes, jewelry, dolls, and other folk handicrafts that represent the daily life and customs of the people of Rajasthan.
