Ashok Khemka to enter golden years after turbulent career of 34 years

After nearly 34 years of service marked by fearless reform and relentless resistance to corruption, Haryana-cadre IAS officer Ashok Khemka is set to retire on April 30.
More than 12 years have passed since Khemka brought to light the alleged irregularities in a land deal between Robert Vadra’s company, Skylight Hospitality, and DLF Universal Ltd. Despite several investigations over the years, no one has been held accountable so far.
The 1991-batch officer first flagged the controversial land transaction in 2012, involving Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi's husband Robert Vadra’s firm Skylight Hospitality and real estate giant DLF Universal Ltd. Despite multiple probes by investigative agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), no final outcome has emerged. Notably, Vadra appeared before the ED as recently as April 15 this year in connection with the 2007-08 land deal.
