The DGCA order comes two days after AAIB report said fuel switches were cut off before Air India crash
Aviation watchdog DGCA on Monday directed airlines to inspect the fuel switch locking system in their Boeing 787 and 737 planes, two days after AAIB's preliminary report said fuel switches were cut off before the Air India plane crash that killed 260 people last month.
In an order, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) asked all Indian airlines to complete the inspection as per the Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) Number: NM 18-33, dated December 17, 2018, before July 21, 2025.
