After facing HC wrath, Punjab says police won't interfere in Bhakra affairs

In a strong rebuke to the Punjab government, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday cautioned against treating fellow Indian states as adversaries.
"We do this to our enemy country—let us not behave the same within our own states," the court remarked during a hearing on the ongoing dispute involving the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB).
The division bench, comprising Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Sumeet Goel, was hearing a petition filed by BBMB, which accused Punjab of obstructing the release of 8,500 cusecs of water meant for Haryana and other regions, by deploying a large number of state police personnel at the Nangal dam.
Following the court's criticism, the Punjab government submitted that it would not allow its police to interfere in BBMB's functioning.
