Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite is less a conventional thriller and more an adrenaline-fueled pressure chamber of responsibility, fear, and moral calculation. In a single, breathless narrative spanning nineteen minutes of real time, it examines how fragile power becomes when seconds decide the fate of millions.

The film opens in a military environment, and Bigelow draws the audience into the labyrinth of national defense. And as we move further into the film, at the PEOC (Presidential Emergency Operations Center) at the White House, the Secret Service creates further intrigue and enhances the drama. Across the country, at STRATCOM, command operators confirm the unthinkable: a missile launch of unknown origin, closing fast.
