TALENTED: ERIK THE RED GELDING WILL BE HAVING HIS FIRST RUN FOR THE TONY PETER YARD
NEW YARD. Zalatoris runs in Race 2 at the Vaal tomorrow and is Muzi Yeni's best bet on the 10-race card.

The Turffontein track will be given a rest this weekend ahead of all the major features that begin again next month and tomorrow's meeting takes place at the Vaal on the main track and there is a 10-race card to preview.
There is a feature race on the card which is the Listed Swallow Stakes over 1200m.
There is also a twilight meeting at Hollywoodbets Durbanville and that is where I will be riding. However, this column focus on the Vaal card for our readers.
In saying that, I like the look of two of my rides in the Cape tomorrow, starting with Flying South in Race 4, who should enjoy the drop back in trip and she can provide some really good value in the race and one that must go into all bets.
I also like the look of Primal Instinct in Race 7, who looks to be a well above-average horse and although drawn wide, I'll be disappointed if he isn’t in the first three, so he is another who must go into all bets.
We will get straight into the day and Race 1 is a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1000m and there are a number of well-bred un-raced horses, so watch the betting and canter past for the best guide to their chances.
Of the races runners, Catfish looks the horse they all have to beat. He was fancied on debut but things didn’t go to plan at the break and with the expected natural improvement, he should prove hard to beat.
Buffalo King Cody was just behind him that day but he already had the benefit of experience and while he should turn the tables, he is the main danger and should not be too far away at the finish.
Race 2 is a Graduation Plate over 1200m and I really like the look of Zalatoris who is having his first run for Tony Peter. I think he will take all the beating.
