FLYSAFAIR: PROBE AFTER FLYER DENIED BOARDING COMPLAINS
FlySafair says it will engage constructively with the National Consumer Commission after the announcement on Wednesday that the commission will investigate its overbooking of seats on its flights, but called for fairness in the investigation.
The National Consumer Commission (NCC) will investigate FlySafair for overbooking its flights after a consumer complained on social media on Sunday that there was no place for him on the flight he had booked due to overbooking.
In its response to the consumer, FlySafair apologized and said it overbooked flights to keep its tickets as affordable as possible.
"We see how inconvenient this can be and offer compensation for passengers who were not able to take the flight they booked. We'd like to apologize to all passengers who have been denied boarding due to overbooking. We know how disappointing this can be. We are committed to transparency and customer satisfaction," FlySafair said.
According to the NCC, it initiated an investigation into FlySafair's conduct to assess and review its compliance with sections of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
