Shut down university aid

It's a funny thing: when students believe something isn't working, they organise a shutdown. Is Nsfas working? Not really. Strange how that's not being shut down.

I guess with some money still trickling down, it would appear to be doing its thing despite the cost it comes at.

Let's not get it wrong, though. The lazy argument will be that shutting down Nsfas is anti-poor, counterrevolutionary and a whole lot of “what do those even mean?” accusations.

You know the type: you're accused of being neoliberal because you put Israeli cucumber in your Greek salad.

It's become commonplace in South African discourse to assume exclusive solutions to multiple problems. The B-BBEE policy is one of them.

If you're critical of the policy, it can only be because you don't want a black diamond to shine.

There's little room to have constructive discourse over a policy with several flaws because it's protected by a warped ideological shield.

Similarly, Nsfas sucks. Ask anybody who's tried to deal with them.
