New Plan: Each Member's 'Personal Pathway' Is Unique and Based on Their Data

Discovery is from this month providing tangible and personalised incentives to its 2.2 million adult Discovery Health Medical Scheme (DHMS) members to get them engaged and healthier.

This platform, Personal Health Pathways, leverages the group's clinical, lifestyle and behavioural data set which it says is the largest in the world.

Its data from 2008 to last year contains 1.1 billion events from health tracking devices, including step counts and heart rates from workouts, while the engagement across the Vitality programme totals 26.5 million life years.

Its clinical data for demographics and health utilisation (claims, hospital admissions and benefit details) totals 48.7 million life years, while it has data on chronic conditions, pathology and other health-related test results spanning 11.7 million life years.
