RAZACK: LEADING BANK INTO NEW TERRITORY

- Liesl Peyer

When Aneesa Razack landed in Guernsey with her family 16 months ago, nothing felt familiar. "We arrived on a Sunday when everything in Guernsey was closed," she recalled. "We initially lived in a parish out of town, and luckily, our relocation specialist put some food in the fridge for us."

The next morning, Razack had to act quickly—buying groceries and a school uniform for her 10-year-old son, Ayaan, who was starting at a new school the following day.

Razack was appointed CEO of First National Bank's (FNB's) Guernsey operations in March 2024. Before taking up the post, Razack headed FNB Fiduciary and held senior positions across the Wealth and Investments and Cash Investments divisions.

FNB established its presence in Guernsey more than 50 years ago, initially focusing on international trust and fiduciary services. The banking operations were introduced in 2015 to meet growing demand from clients in South Africa and across the continent, who sought access to international financial services.
