SUNDOWNS: KNOWLEDGE OF TUNISIAN GAME HELPED
Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has explained how he prepared his players for the tactical battle of the two-legged quarterfinal clash against Esperance in the CAF Champions League.
The Brazilians edged the tightly-contested encounter 1-0 on aggregate, to advance to the semifinals of the competition for a third time in a row despite playing to a goalless draw away to Esperance on Tuesday night.
The damage was done in Tshwane when Peter Shalulile scored the only goal of the match during the first leg at Loftus Versfeld. Sundowns will now meet the most successful club in the history of the competition, Al-Ahly.
